Tenets of my teaching philosophy
Mutual Respect
My first tenet is respect, it is very important to treat others how you want to be treated. It is going to be very important for everyone to respect everyone and everything in our classroom (and in the school). It makes for a safe and fun environment and I think that it will help everyone to feel comfortable.
Individual Learners
My second tenet is my belief that every person learns in their own individual way and it is going to be my responsibility to teach in ways that everyone understands and also has fun. I know that when a lesson is fun, it is more interesting and in turn you will get more out of it. As a teacher I will find creative ways to teach to my class so that no student is left behind.
Clear Expectations
My third tenet is that the class will have clear expectations that we will all agree upon together at the beginning of the year. It is important to have expectations so that everyone is on the same page and everyone knows what is acceptable behavior. It is also important that everyone understands the school rules, so that we have basic rules that the whole school can follow.
Active Involvement and Personal Best
My fourth and final tenet is active involvement, meaning that every child will try their best and participate in class. I think that it is important for everyone to participate, so that they have a better understanding of what we are learning, by applying it to something that is important to them.
